Traditional Norms Overshadow Rule of Law in Grand Cape Mount County

GRAND CAPEMOUNT, LIBERIA – Reports from Grand Cape County say traditional people have prevented the arrest of a classroom teacher who allegedly raped and impregnated a thirteen year old minor.

According to ELBC’s Cape Mount County Correspondent, Mark Rogers, the incident occurred last October in Camp Three, Tewor District.

He further said the alleged rapist was seen in the area but has since gone into hiding for fear of being arrested.

Correspondent, Rogers who also said the father of the man is a top traditional member in the community along with others, expressed unwillingness to turn over the man to the police for investigation.

Meanwhile, the Minor is appealing to government and humanitarian organizations to assist her cater to the baby.Story By Mark Rogers.
