Management of Firestone-Liberia to Appear before House of Representatives’ Plenary

MONROVIA, LIBERIA –The Plenary of the House of Representatives has cited the management of Firestone-Liberia to appear before it Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

The decision followed a recent Firestone Management’s meeting with the House Committee on Concessions in connection with its planned redundancy of over 300 of its workers.

According to our Legislative Reporter, Firestone’s Management is expected to provide existing contract between it and the Liberia Government, including contracts with other firms during Tuesday’s hearing.

The redundancy plan by Firestone-Liberia has sparked public mixed reactions in the past week, through authorities of the Labor Ministry have since taken exception to the intent of the company.
