Health Authorities, stakeholders reveal Liberia Public Health Law

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Health Authorities and other stakeholders have begun the revision of the 1976 Public Health Law of Liberia.

The Head of the Revision Team, Tombay Vorbah, said the revision of the law will distinguish the functions between    the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).

Atty. Vorbah disclosed that the reform process is being carried out by key Liberian lawyers, with the input of stakeholders in the health sector.

He told ELBC Tuesday, July 14, 2020, that their intention is to ensure that the new law meets international standards.

Atty. Vorbah said:” The law takes into consideration the issue of harmonizing the functions between the Ministry of Health and the NPHIL.”
