Liberia mourns Rep. Munah Pelham-Youngblood’s death

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-More messages of condolence have been extended to the family, House of Representatives and the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) for the death of Representative Munah Pelham-Youngblood.

The latest comes from President George Weah, the Government and people of Liberia for the loss sustained.

President Weah also paid tribute to the fallen Montserrado County District-9 Representative.

Representative Youngblood died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, in Ghana after a protracted illness.

An Executive Mansion release quotes President Weah as describing the late Montserrado County Lawmaker as a pillar of the CDC.

President Weah said:” The fallen Lawmaker was a great stateswoman, whose active leadership role at the 54th National Legislature contributed immensely to nurturing the Country’s democracy.”

The Liberian Leader admitted that Representative Youngblood was also a strong advocate for women leadership and empowerment.

Meanwhile, members of the House of Representatives are mourning the death of their fallen colleague Representative Munah Pelham-Youngblood.

In an interview with ELBC Wednesday, July 8, 2020, the lawmakers recounted their fallen colleague’s advocacy for women representation in the governance process and youth development among others.

The lawmakers also described her death as a blow not only to the Legislature, but the body politics of Liberia.

Meanwhile, members of the House of Representatives extended condolences to the bereaved family, the people of Montserrado County, District-Nine and the National Legislature.
