GRAND KRU COUNTY, LIBERIA-Grand Kru County Attorney Watkins Knight has renewed calls for the suspension of Mining activities in the County.

Atty. Knight’s call is in reaction to alleged rampant illicit Mining in Grand Kru County.

He wants mining communities benefit from proceeds   of the activities through the adaption of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with companies and individuals mining in the County.

Atty. Knight noted that illicit mining is also undermining development in Grand Kru County.

Several citizens of the County, including Representative Fonati Koffa, have decried the increase in illicit mining in the County.
