Senate Suspends Sessions After Asst. Secretary Tests Positive of Covid-19

Monrovia – Liberia, The Liberian Senate has suspended its sessions for a period of one week beginning Wednesday June 17, 2020.

The decision comes after the Senate’s Assistant Secretary Madam Jannave Massaquoi tested positive of Coronavirus.

A statement issued Wednesday said the determination to either resume session next week will be made over the weekend.

Madam Massaquoi is currently at the 14 Military Hospital undergoing treatment.

The Senate’s Secretariat has also been closed for two weeks to observe the situation.

Meanwhile, the President of the Senate, Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, the President Pro temporary – Albert Chie and Members of the Senate have wished Madam Massaquoi well.
