Gov. of Liberia begins revenue, expenditure publication

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has begun regular publication of revenue and expenditure reports of various spending entities.

The initiative is part of Government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

A release issued Thursday, June 4, 2020, said under the new measure, the Ministry of Finance will post weekly fiscal reports on its website for public consumption.

The report titled: ‘Fiscal Data Transparency Measure”, will reflect budget performances of each entity; the first report was published on May 24 this year in continuation of Government’s Open Budget and Fiscal Transparency Initiative.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance has also begun implementing a new newly designed Cash Management System, which has effectively addressed the issue of cash shortage in the Country.

The release further said these allotments will be approved under the new scheme based on the availability of cash.
