Pres. Weah donates to Liberia Nat’l Teams

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has made several nominations in Government affecting the National Bureau of Veteran Affairs and the Judiciary.

According to an Executive Mansion release issued Wednesday, May 27, 2020, those nominated at the Veteran Bureau are Retired Colonel Edwin Goodridge, Director General, Retired Major Alexander Gear, Deputy Director for Administration and Retired Lieutenant Andrew Wleh, Deputy Director for Veteran Affairs.

The Liberian Leader also nominated Cllr. Ciapha Carey as Resident Judge at the Eleventh Circuit Court in Bong County, and Logan Togba as Relieving Commissioner, Sinoe County.

Cllr.Carey replaces the late William Sando.

According to the release, the nominations at the National Bureau of Veteran and the Judiciary are subject are subject to confirmation by the Senate where applicable.

In another development, President George Weah has donated three-hundred 25kg bags of rice and seven-hundred nose masks, to the men and women’s national football teams of Liberia.

President Weah’s donation was made Wednesday, May 27, 2020, through the Youth and Sports Ministry.

According to Youth and Sports Minister Zeogar Wilson, the gesture is the President’s way of identifying with players of the National Football Teams during the COVID-19 Crisis.

Minister is Wilson is, meanwhile, commending the President for identifying with the teams at a time when the health crisis has created constraints for many footballers.

The Youth and Sports Boss said:” The rice donation will help in easing the financial constraints faced by most of the National Team players.”
