Monrovia, Liberia – Opposition Leader Alexander Cummings has praised Liberian Security officials and staff for the professional treatment given him while under quarantine.

Mr. Cummings said security officers and staff at the Palm Springs Hotel followed all the procedures and accorded him all due respect.

The ANC Political Leader was one of several high profile public figures placed under precautionary observation for 14 days after arriving in the country from a high risk zone.

Speaking Monday March 30, 2020 after being discharged by Health Authorities, Mr. Cummings called on Liberians to join hands and fight the coronavirus.

He wants people to look at him as an example because he had the choice of self-isolation, but decided to submit to government’s quarantine process.

The Alternative National Congress Political Leader however expressed the hope that government will consistently follow the health protocols and not being selective.

“Let me take this time to say thanks everyone here, the staff, the nurses, security and all these wonderful people. They have followed the procedures, been professional and kept a social distance” Mr. Cummings added.

He was addressing a reporter’s question about the level of treatment he received at the Palm Springs Hotel while undergoing 14 days of precautionary observation in line with the health protocols put in place by the Incidence Management Team.

Meanwhile the ANC Political Leader is today March, 31 making a donation of food and other assorted items to several orphanages in Montserrado and Margibi Counties. The move, according to Mr. Cummings, is part of initial efforts to help combat the spread of coronavirus in Liberia.
