World Bank Enhances Liberia’s Capacity to Fight Against Coronavirus

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The World Bank has committed US$15 Million to assist the Liberian Government fights the coronavirus.

Speaking Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Monrovia, Finance Minister, Samuel Tweah, said the Bank has currently made available US$1.5 Million to help the government in the fight against the Coronavirus.

Minister Tweah said US$ 6Million of the amount, is expected to be remitted to Government in the coming days.

He said US$7.5Million will come through the World Bank for its emergency response commitment.

Minister Tweah also disclosed that the International Monetary Fund has made available US$50Billion globally for countries economies amidst the health pandemic.
