State Prosecutors Take Exception to Murder Suspect, Oliver Dillon’s Release

KAKATA, MARGIBI COUNTY – State Prosecution has taken exception to Judge Mardea Chenoweth’s ruling involving the Defense Counsel representing Murder Suspect, Oliver Dillon.

The Judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Kakata, Margibi County, Madam Chenoweth, in her ruling said government lawyers without any reason boycotted the hearing assigned for Wednesday and Thursday.

Defendant and suspect Dillon on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in the case was released on bail to his lawyers, followed a motion for recusal filed by State Prosecution against Judge, Madea Chenoweth.

But, Liberia’s Solicitor General, Cllr. Serenus Cephus, argued that Judge Chenoweth’s action is contrary to the Justice in Chambers’ earlier decision.

Cllr. Cephus, however, said Prosecution will seek intervention at the Supreme Court in connection to Judge Madea Chenoweth’s decision.
