President Weah Describes Dr. Sayeh’s Appointment at IMF as Proud Moment for Liberia

Monrovia Liberia – President George Manneh Weah says he has no doubt about the ability of Dr. Antoinette Sayeh to diligently promote the vision of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

It follows the recent appointment of Liberian Finance Minister as the New Deputy Managing Director of the IMF.

In a congratulatory message to Dr. Antoinette Sayeh, President Weah described her appointment as a proud moment for Liberia and a welcoming development for the continent of Africa – as she will be the first Deputy Managing Director of the IMF to come from Africa In 21 years.

“I have no doubt in Dr. Sayeh’s ability to diligently espouse the vision of the IMF and its aims to reducing global poverty, encouraging international trade, and promoting financial stability and economic growth in developing Countries” the Liberian leader added in a statement released on his personal Facebook account.

President Weah said he is certain that Dr. Sayeh’s selection will help enhance the fundamental mission of the IMF across the globe in ensuring the stability of the international monetary system.

He concluded “Once again, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, I wish to congratulate you, Dr. Sayeh on your new role and wish you Godspeed as you embark on this new career journey”.
