Suspected Arson Attack Damages Johnsonville Public School

The Liberia National Police and the National Fire Service are investigating the burning of the Johnsonville Public School in Montserrado County.

Residents of the Township said the incident happened in the early hours of Monday February 10, 2020.

Fire Service Public Affairs Director Augustus Momo said preliminary investigation points to a suspected arson attack by students who were recently expelled from the school.

The expelled students are said to have earlier threatened to cause damage if their expulsion is not lifted.

The suspected arson attack has damaged major documents and has now made almost a thousand students to be out of school.

Education Minister Ansu Sonii and Montserrado County Education Officer Samuel Bondo toured the school early Monday Morning to assess the level of damage.
