LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Minister of Local Government and former Representative of District One in Lofa County, Francis Nyumalin, has declared his support for the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Thomas Fallah, ahead of Liberia’s 2029 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Foya District, Lofa County, over the weekend, Nyumalin said his decision was guided by his commitment to maintaining peace and promoting unity in the county, rather than personal interests.
According to Nyumalin, his decision followed consultations with traditional chiefs, elders, and members of his family, emphasizing that the move was made after careful consideration.
He also dismissed suggestions that he was under duress, insisting that his decision to support the Deputy House Speaker was voluntary and motivated by what he described as the best interest of the County.
Nyumalin further expressed appreciation to President Joseph Boakai for appointing him as Minister of Local Government to serve his country, describing the opportunity as a demonstration of confidence in his ability to contribute to national development.
His declaration of support for Fallah comes ahead of the 2029 general elections, as political alignments and consultations continue to shape the political landscape in Lofa County.
