MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia has finally been removed from the United States Department of Labor’s “Tier-Two” to “Tier-Three” Watch List, marking a transformative move in the country’s Labor Sector.
This means that the country is now eligible to seek support and other benefits from the U.S. through the International Labor Organization (ILO).
Acting Labor Ministry Communications Director, Frederick Baye, told ELBC that the country has been on the U.S. Tier-Two Watch list for over six years due to previous violations of the International Labor Protocols.
Baye noted that for years Liberia has not been eligible to apply for investment under the U.S. Labor Sector.
The Acting Labor Ministry Communications Director said:” This is as a result of efforts made by the Liberian Government in its strides to improve the condition of Liberian workers”.
