MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Justice Ministry has rejected allegations that the arrest of the Deputy Superintendent for Operations at the Monrovia Central Prison was personal.

The Ministry maintains that Atty. Siafa Bahn Kemokai did not initiate Jackson Kolako’s arrest or investigation as alleged in a communication believed to have been issued by Kolako.

According to the Ministry, the directive for Kolako’s arrest was issued by Justice Minister Oswald Tweh, following information received from the National Security Agency.

It clarified that Kolako is being investigated for allegedly interacting with a suspect in the ongoing drug investigation, including allegations that he received money from an outside source.

The Justice Ministry is calling on Kolako to cooperate with investigators, as no officer, regardless of rank, will be allowed to undermine the government’s efforts in the ongoing drug investigations.
