MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) is holding a one-day validation Workshop in Sinkor.
The workshop is focused on the Embedded Generation Regulations and Amendments to Electricity Licensing and Micro-Utility Licensing Regulations.
It brings together energy stakeholders from across the Country, including the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
During the opening session, LERC’s Acting Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Amara Kamara, said:” The initiative is part of the commission’s effort to strengthen the existing regulatory framework”.
Acting Chairman Kamara said the workshop represents another important milestone in Liberia’s ongoing electricity sector reform process.
According to him, the move is part of the government’s broader efforts to improve energy efficiency and regulations.
Also speaking, Deputy Mines and Energy Minister Charles Umehai, said the workshop is not only a technical exercise, but a critical step toward ensuring that regulatory instruments are practical, transparent, and align with the government’s broader energy transformation agenda.
