MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Civil Service Agency Director-General Josiah Joekai says the government is expanding services under the Legal Power of Attorney program for public workers.
Speaking during a signing ceremony at the Ministry of Information, Director Joekai said,” More than 9,400 employees are now enrolled on the LPA platform, adding that only 4,000 workers were enrolled in 2024”.
Director Joekai said the automated system has made the process faster and easier. Employees can now access goods and services without using paper documents.
He disclosed that the National Insurance Company of Liberia has joined the platform to provide vehicle insurance services on credit for government workers.
According to him, employees will be able to ensure their vehicles without making down payments and can pay gradually over several months.
Meanwhile, Civil Service Agency Director-General Josiah Joekai says 304 employees of ELWA Hospital have been added to the government payroll.
Joekai said,” The action followed a mandate from President Joseph Boakai”.
He said the process was completed by the Civil Service Agency, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Health.
Speaking at the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing, he disclosed that the workers have already received their April salaries.
According to him, the total payment made to the workers for April exceeds 104 thousand United States dollars.
Director Joekai added that the government is now working to pay the employees their March salary arrears.
At the same time, the Civil Service Agency and the National Insurance Company of Liberia have signed an agreement to provide insurance services for government employees.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, CSA Director-General Josiah Joekai said the initiative will help reduce the financial burden on public workers.
Joekai said government employees on the Legal Power of Attorney platform will now be able to access vehicle insurance services on credit.
According to him, workers will not be required to make down payments before receiving insurance coverage for their vehicles.
He added that the agreement is part of the Boakai administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of Liberian workers and families.
