The Ministry of Information has clarified its position regarding recent concerns over the government-media relations.

Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, said,” Reports suggesting tension between the government and the media are misleading”.

According to him, the government holds no hostile stance toward journalists, but instead encourages responsible reporting guided by the fundamentals of journalism.

Minister Sando called on media institutions to avoid exaggeration and remain focused on factual and balanced reporting.

He stressed that national development depends on a responsible and ethical media sector.
