Heavy Rainstorm Destroys over Thirty Homes in Younlay, Nimba County

NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Heavy rainstorm has destroyed more than thirty homes in Younlay, District Three, Nimba County.

The incident occurred when citizens were asleep.

Nimba County District Three Representative, Nehker Gaye, has since launched a passionate plea for urgent humanitarian assistance.

Gaye said,” Currently, the storm victims are in dire need of building materials, clothing, and food items to rebuild their lives”.

He told ELBC on Thursday, April 30, 2026, that the storm rendered more than two hundred residents homeless.

The Nimba County Lawmaker wants the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) to quickly respond to the needs of the people.

Meanwhile, Representative Nehker Gaye said his office will begin the distribution of food items to the storm victims this weekend.
