MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Criminal Court A, on Wednesday, dismissed the prosecution’s exception challenging defendant Samuel Jackson’s property valuation bond, saying the bond is invalid.
Judge Roosevelt Willie has also granted a Bill of Information filed by Jackson’s Defense team and ordered him to sign for his properties as well, adding that the property valuation bond met the legal requirements as enshrined in the Criminal Procedure Law.
Properties belonging to Jackson turned over to the Court include three iPhones, one Samsung, and a black phone, two laptops, a South African passport, a Liberian Immigration Service Permit, and four sets of keys.
On April 13, 2026, the prosecution filed an exception to Jackson’s bond on several grounds that the property valuation bond is defective because DENCO, the surety of the bond, is not the owner of the deed attached.
Secondly, the surety did not obtain authorization from the Central Bank, which is a condition for the issuance of the bonds.
For the Court to ensure that defendant Sanuel Jackson is within the bailiwick of Liberia, they demanded that he produce three human sureties whose homes were visited by the Sheriff and photos attached to a promissory note, signed before the Court, to ensure that his appearance whenever he is needed, and executed a Writ of Ne Exit.
