MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Airport Authority is set to commission several safety and ground maintenance equipment at the Roberts International Airport this Wednesday.

The equipment includes a fire engine and two heavy-duty tractors to support maintenance of the airport surroundings and ensure clear visibility.

According to the LAA, the initiative aims at helping Liberia achieve Category Nine status while strengthening the airport’s emergency response capacity.

A release from the Authority says the commissioning of the state-of-the-art equipment reaffirms its commitment to improving aviation safety, efficiency, and compliance with global standards.

The ceremony is expected to be graced by Finance and Development Planning Minister, Augustine Ngafuan, Transport Minister Sirleaf Tyler, Montserrado County Senator Saah Joseph, representatives of the European Union, and the Board Chair of the LAA.
