Liberian Ambassador to Ghana, Musu Ruhle, is calling for calm in the Liberian community in Ghana, amidst the death of a Liberian, Austin Tengbeh, in Accra.
Tengbeh, twenty-six, was allegedly mobbed to death by residents at an apartment complex in Lashibi, near Sakumono, on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Three suspects are already undergoing investigation by the Ghana Police Service.
In an ELBC interview on Monday, March 2, 2026, Ambassador Ruhle said,” The embassy has engaged some members of the Liberian community to stop a planned protest”.
Ambassador Ruhle described the death of Austin as unfortunate, but there was no need to escalate the situation to protest action.
The Liberian Ambassador in Ghana recounted the strong bond of friendship between Liberia and Ghana, and said, “The death of Austin has been condemned by Liberians and Ghanaians”.
Meanwhile, the three suspected individuals linked to Austin’s death are currently under investigation by the Ghana Police Service.
They are Vincent Adzikah, thirty-eight, Francis Amuzu, forty-four, and William Addison, thirty-four, currently assisting with investigations.
The fourth suspect, Enoch Mensah, is currently at large, while efforts are underway to have him arrested.
The police stated that the suspects began facing court trial on Monday, March 2, 2026, in Accra, maintaining that acts of mob justice or unlawful assault are criminal offences and undermine due process.
It disclosed that the body of Austin has since been deposited at the Lashibi Funeral Home for preservation and autopsy.
