Liberia Immigration Service Dismisses Two Officers for Fraud, Forgery…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has dismissed two of its officers for fraud, forgery, and falsification of official documents of Resident Permit Cards.

They are officers Isaiah Gray and George Cooper.

According to the LIS Director of Communications, Laura Massaquoi-Page, the entity also suspended officer Mark Sheriff for two months without pay, in connection with a criminal case.

Speaking at a news conference on Monday, February 9, 2026, Madam Massaquoi-Page noted that the decision was reached following a comprehensive investigation carried out by the LIS Special Investigative Team.

She said,” The actions are in strict accordance with the LIS Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Regulations of 2016, which talks of criminal misconduct, abuse of authority, corruption, bribery, forgery, and falsification of records”.

Meanwhile, the Liberia Immigration Service is cautioning the public against conducting business with the dismissed and suspended officers.
