MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The China Aid Technical Team has officially handed over the keys of the newly constructed media complex to the Management of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS).
The facility is designed to enhance the work of journalists, improve news production, and strengthen the delivery of accurate and timely information to citizens across the country.
Presenting the keys on Thursday, February 6, 2026, the head of the China AID Technical Team, Li Wei Qian, lauded the collaboration between the Chinese and Liberian Governments.
Receiving the keys, on behalf of the LBS Management, Director General Eugene Fahngon, praised the Chinese Government, describing the project as a significant investment in Liberia’s media development and democratic growth.
He attributed the success of the project to the vision and leadership of President Joseph Boakai.
At the same time, Director General Fahngon praised the Management of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) for its foresight and commitment during the construction of the media complex.
He specifically thanked the LEC Management for providing a one-megawatt transformer to the LBS at no cost.
According to him, the support from the LEC has significantly contributed to ensuring a stable power supply for the facility.
The LBS boss then assured the LEC Management of a strong and enduring partnership between the two institutions.
Meanwhile, the LBS boss said the Management will formally turn over the keys to the Board of Directors.
