Agriculture Ministry Releases Job Creation Report

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Agriculture has released a report, highlighting 9,659 short, medium, and permanent jobs created from 2024 to 2025.

According to the Ministry, the number of jobs it created in the two years was part of the overall 70,000 jobs created by the government.

Agriculture Ministry, Dr. Alexander Nuetah, told the Super Morning Show on Thursday that most of the jobs were created through the construction of farm-to-market roads.

Ministry Nuetah disclosed that the 123 persons were permanently employed at the Ministry last year.

He clarified that job creation cuts across the formal and informal sectors.

At the same time, the Agriculture Ministry has called for greater coordination among government officials to strengthen public trust.

Minister Nuetah said issues that must be discussed among public officials should not surface in the press.

The agriculture minister was reacting to a public request by the Head of the National Food Assistance Agency, Director General Boakai Sirleaf, for a budgetary allotment of 950,000 US Dollars to be redirected to the Agency’s account.

Ministry Alexander Nuetah told ELBC that, as Board Chair of NFAA, he has not received any communication, official or unofficial, from the Agency’s authorities regarding the reported amount.

Meanwhile, Minister Nuetah says the Ministry of Agriculture remains committed to fostering transparency and accountability at all times.
