Nat’l Food Assistance Agency Wants $ 950, 000 Redirected …

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Food Assistance Agency (NFAA) wants the nine hundred fifty thousand US dollars placed under the Agriculture Ministry be redirected.

NFAA Director General, Boakai Sirleaf, wants the money reverted to the Agency’s account to allow the entity carry out its statutory mandate.

The NFAA Director General noted that the disbursement of the money to the Agriculture Ministry contradicts the Agency’s role.

The Act establishing the NFAA charged the entity with the responsibility to coordinate, manage, and distribute both local and foreign food to vulnerable Liberians.

Meanwhile, Director General Boakai Sirleaf says the National Food Assistance Agency is working along with the Finance Ministry to ensure that the money appropriated is aligned with the legal mandate of the Agency.
