MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of Information, Jerolinmek Piah, has revealed that the Government of Liberia is due to dedicate the new broadcast complex of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS).
Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, February 5, 2026, Minister Piah disclosed that the facility will be named the Charles Gbenyon Radio and Television Complex in honor of the late journalist.
He explained that the dedication date is being jointly decided by the LBS Management, the Board, and the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai.
The Minister noted that the site of the complex the naming of lasting tribute to his service and sacrifice to journalism in Liberia.
Meanwhile, Information Minister Piah has dismissed reports, claiming that key government institutions were hacked.
Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah said,” Negotiations found no evidence of cyberattacks on the Liberia Revenue Authority, the National Investment Commission, or the Liberia Electricity Corporation”.
He says the government is making steady progress in stabilizing the electricity supply and improving road networks nationwide.
Minister Piah assured the public that recent power challenges are being addressed by the LEC.
According to him, street lights and power poles are being installed along major corridors, including the Roberts Field Highway and the Free Port route.
He also said the delayed road projects, including the Gbarnga-Ganta Corridor and other major highways, will resume, following the completion of an audit.
The Minister said, “Infrastructure development remains a top priority of the Boakai Administration”.
