MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has nominated Cyrus Saygbe as Director General for the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA).
The appointment followed months of Saygbe acting in the position after the suspension of Madam Emma Glasco in May last year.
According to an Executive Mansion release, President Boakai expressed confidence in the leadership and experience of the nominee to further consolidate the gains being made in the Fisheries Sector.
The Liberian Leader said,” Cyrus Saygbe, serving as Acting Director General of NaFAA, has been overseeing key initiatives aimed at strengthening Liberia’s Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector and promoting sustainable practices”.
President Boakai encouraged stakeholders in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Industry to support the nominee, upon confirmation, to continue prioritizing sustainable management and growth of Liberia’s aquatic resources.
At the same time, President Boakai has made several appointments affecting institutional governance and regional aviation management, among others.
Those appointed are Dr. Tar Gonway-Gono, President of the Tappita Technical Vocational Training Institute, and Ebenezer Strother, Vice President of Administration.
At the Booker Washington Institute (BWI), President Boakai reappointed all members of the Board to complete their unexpired tenure.
The President also appointed Abner Yonly as Port Manager for Regional Airports at the James Spriggs Airport.
The release quotes President Boakai as urging all appointees to serve with diligence, integrity, and professionalism in support of national development.
