MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has suspended the Executive Director of the National Commission on Disabilities, Samuel Dean.
It followed a Special Investigative Committee’s Report concerning allegations against the Commission of mismanagement.
To ensure continuity in the administration and operations of the Commission during this period, the President has appointed Apostle Aaron Wright as Acting Executive Director and Emery Amos Jessie as Acting Deputy Executive Director, respectively.
President Boakai has also directed the General Auditing Commission (GAC) to conduct a comprehensive audit of the Commission to fully examine the allegations of improprieties.
The President emphasized that these actions demonstrate his administration’s efforts to promote accountability, transparency, and responsible governance, while upholding due process under the law.
In another development, President Joseph Boakai has approved the retirement of Brigadier General Amos Dickson, following a recommendation from Chief Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay.
An Executive Mansion statement said Brigadier General Dickson has rendered thirty-eight years of dedicated service to the Government of Liberia through the Supreme Court of Liberia.
The President expressed appreciation for his years of service and steadfast commitment to national duty.
The statement noted that all actions taken are consistent with Section 14.1 of the Judiciary Law and the President’s constitutional authority exercised, with the advice and consent of the Liberian Senate, where applicable.
