BOMI COUNTY, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has recommitted his administration to transforming Liberia for all citizens.
President Boakai said,” This commitment can be achieved by building investors’ confidence, shared collaboration and providing citizens with the necessities of life”.
The Liberian Leader said the government will remain focused on taking key steps and implementing polices to improve the standards of living and revamp the economy.
According to him, prioritising the interests of the Liberian people will remain the driving force of his administration, pledging to exert efforts in meeting such a goal.
He was speaking over the weekend in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, at the celebrations of his 81st birth anniversary.
President Boakai lauded citizens, including members of his cabinet and the National Legislature, for the warm wishes accorded him during his birthday.
At the same time, the Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), Eugene Fahngon, has underscored President Boakai’s significant contributions to Liberia’s development.
Mr Fahngon said,” The President has improved infrastructure, including electricity, water supply, road networks and expanded media access across the country”.
He emphasised the President’s strength and wisdom, comparing him to a 21-year-old in vigour and an 81-year-old in experience.
The LBS Director General encouraged the President to continue his efforts, highlighting the progress made and the benefits of the nation.
Meanwhile, the Liberian Chief Executive has declared Monday, December 1, 2025, as World AIDS Day to be observed as a working holiday throughout the country.
President Boakai said,” Since the virus was first identified in 1981, it continues to pose a serious threat to global health, with Liberia being no exception”.
He said,” Liberia has made significant progress in its national response to HIV through policies, community programs, and partnerships, with civil society organisations, health specialists, and international donors playing a key role.
A Foreign Ministry release quotes President Boakai as saying these efforts have expanded prevention, testing, treatment, and support services across Liberia.
The Liberian leader said,” Despite these gains, continued commitment is needed to strengthen health systems, protect human rights, and oppose persistent stigma and discrimination”.
