Labour Minister Says Ministry Has Statutory Mandate to Regulate Labor Sector

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Labour Minister, Cllr. Cooper Kruah says the Ministry has the statutory mandate to regulate the labour sector.

Minister Kruah said,” Such regulation is done through the development and implementation of policy for adherence to the Decent Work Act of 2015, and other international conventions”.

He said,” The national action plan on business and human rights reinforces the Country’s duty to protect those under its jurisdiction from business-related human rights abuses”.

In remarks, Deputy Justice Minister for Administration and Public Safety, Cllr. Cora Konowa said Liberia stands ready to advance responsible conduct as a foundation for sustainable development and economic transformation.

Cllr. Konowa said,” The launch and implementation of the national action plan on business and human rights symbolises the government’s resolve to ensure investment contributes positively to national prosperity and safeguards the rights of every citizen”.
