MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai says road infrastructure is critical to Africa’s economic and social progress.
President Boakai said,” Constructing quality roads in the region is paramount to alleviating poverty and embracing lasting growth”.
The Liberian Leader was speaking at the 22nd Annual General Meeting of the African Road Maintenance Funds Association in Congo Town, Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The Liberian Leader stated that the meeting reinforces his administration’s commitment to advancing sustainable development in Liberia and the region.
He lauded the efforts of ARMFA for continuously championing decades of improving financing, coordination, and effective road maintenance across Africa.
Meanwhile, President Boakai has declared the Government of Liberia’s support for the African Union’s program for Infrastructure Development.
According to the Liberian Leader, through PIDA, Liberia will remain committed to playing a crucial role in implementing its promise of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
The President noted that the success of both PIDA and the African Continental Free Trade will tremendously improve regional road quality and connectivity.
He highlighted his administration’s strides in improving access to farm-to-market roads, which remain a key priority of the government.
