Stakeholders in Margibi County Consider Local Dev. Promotion

MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-Stakeholders gathered on Wednesday in Lower Margibi County to discuss ways forward in promoting local developments.

The event, which took place under the theme:” Competence 2025 Seminar”, focused on how communities can take ownership of ongoing developments in their areas.

Speaking at the event on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Bishop of the United Methodist Church (UMC), Samuel Quire, urged participants to have trust in one another and work together for lasting change.

Bishop Quire also called on participants to leverage the forum to transform minds, systems, and their various communities.

Meanwhile, the Manager of the Port of Buchanan, Jonathan Kaipay, is urging Liberians to take ownership of ongoing developments in their communities.

Kaipay described local voices, ideas, and action as true drivers of sustained progress.

He thanked the UMC of Norway, the Government of Norway, and other partners for their continued efforts toward Liberia’s advancement.

The Buchanan Port Manager also highlighted the SAILS project, noting that it will ensure that children stay in school and learn in a safe and supportive environment.
