House of Rep. Unanimously Solicits Gen. Auditing Commission’s Audit

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has unanimously voted to authorize the General Auditing Commission (GAC) to carry on a system review audit at the House.

The endorsement followed a GAC report recommending such a review of the financial management system and processes with the House.

According to the ELBC Legislative Reporter, the system review audit will cover the period from January 2022 to 2024.

The audit, according to the GAC, takes into consideration the current financial management system, payroll, budgeting, and procurement practices.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Richard Koon, is urging the House’s Committee on Public Accounts, Ways, Means, and Finance to cooperate with the audit fully.

Speaker Koon said,” Adherence to the system review by the GAC is key to restoring the dignity and integrity of the House of Representatives”.
