MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s First Lady, Kartumu Boakai, has hailed Merck Foundation for contributing immensely towards Liberia’s Health and Education Sectors.
Madam Boakai said,” Through the Foundation, more than fifty Liberian doctors have received scholarships to further pursue their profession in different categories”.
The First Lady further disclosed that an additional seventy-one doctors are being processed.
She also highlighted educational opportunities that the organization has provided to several disadvantaged girls over the years.
Madam Boakai described these scholarships as tickets to dignity, votes of confidence, and shields against poverty.
The First Lady was speaking on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the 12th Edition of the Merck Foundation Africa, Asia, Achiever in Banjul, the Gambia.
The First Lady then called on her colleagues to forge commitments that are carved into policy and utilize knowledge gained for the betterment of others.
