The EU Envoy applauded Liberia’s peace and democratic gains and commitment to its voice on the UN Security Council to foster global peace through women and youth.

Ambassador Joao Cravinho said,” While there are calls for the EU to rethink its strategy towards the Sahel region, an unofficial Renewed Approach has been developed to effectively tackle the situation.

At the same time, Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman has lauded the EU for its consistent support of the Liberia National Police (LNP).

Col. Colman also assured the EU that the resources committed to the LNP will be utilized for their intended purpose in strengthening the institution’s capacity.

The Police IGP remarked on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, during a meeting with the EU Special Representative for the Sahel region, Joao Cravinho.

In response, Ambassador Cravinho praised the LNP for its role in sustaining peace and stability within the sub-region.
