MARYLAND COUNTY, LIBERIA-Liberia Maritime Authority (LMA) Commissioner has disclosed plans to support several students of the William V.S. Tubman University (WVSTU) in Harper, Maryland County.
Commissioner Neto Lighe said,” The LMA has secured slots for two students at the WVSTU to study abroad and pursue a master’s degree in different disciplines”.
Lighe also noted that at least one hundred students are expected to receive a full scholarship at the University for three years.
The LMA boss said,” The initiative is part of the Authority’s strategic plan to support educational institutions, particularly university students in acquiring technical skills and knowledge needed for the future”.
Commissioner Lighe made the remarks in an ELBC interview in Maryland County, after delivering his keynote address at the 16th Opening Convocation of the WVSTU in Harper on Tuesday, August 27, 2025.
In remarks, Tubman University President Olu Menjay lauded the Liberia Maritime Authority, adding that the University is fully prepared to provide quality tertiary education in Liberia.
