Gov. of Liberia Discloses Benefit from Three Billion USD Japanese Investment in Africa

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has disclosed that Liberia stands to benefit from a portion of a three billion US Dollar investment expected to be provided by the Japanese Government for Africa.

According to Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah, the amount will be distributed in different sectors, including infrastructure, road construction, and healthcare, among others.

Minister Piah noted that over five billion will be used for loans through the African Development Bank and over one billion used for investment, thus encouraging Japanese companies to focus on development in Africa.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah also highlighted significant developments undertaken by the government of Japan in Liberia, expressing the Liberian Government’s continued partnership with the Japanese Government.

Meanwhile, Minister Piah says the Japanese Government has committed to working along with the Liberian Government to advance Liberia’s development, the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).

He said,” The Government of Japan has promised to construct the Johnson Street to Freeport Road Corridor, with an overhead bridge intended to ease movement”.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah also disclosed Japan’s efforts to establish the Africa Credit Rating Agency to regulate all financial activities and end hunger and food insecurity in Africa.
