PAYNESVILLE CITY, MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-Residents of GSA Road Community, over the weekend, gathered at the auditorium of the YMCA to listen to their community leaders presenting various platforms in preparation for their upcoming election, through a debate in Paynesville.
The election, which is expected to take place on August 24, 2025, brought together cross cross-section of over two hundred residents from various communities of the GSA Road, to listen to candidates vying for the chairmanship position of the community.
The debate, organized by the Elders’ Council of the GSA Road community, was meant to hear from various candidates what they envision for the community and how they intend to improve the livelihood of community dwellers.
Laying the ground rules that governed the debate, an elder of the community, Joseph Koon, read out several rules, including no cheering, no interruption when a candidate takes the stand, and no Jeering, among others
He, however, urged the candidates to be peaceful in their interactions with contending parties.
Presenting his platform, the incumbent Chairman of the GSA Road Community, Moore Adam, planned to use the means of advocacy, improve education through scholarships, and improve sanitation, among others, to transform the community.
Also presenting his platform, Konah Barclay, said he is going to ensure that funds intended for the community will be accounted for.
For his part, the incumbent Secretary General, Sally Yang, presented five pillars under which he intends to run his platform, and those pillars include: Unity and Inclusion, Accountability
and Transparency, among others.
