MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has honored several individuals for their contributions to nation building, as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
Among those honored are Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah, the Chief of Protocol of Liberia Antoinette Wolo, and acclaimed Liberian writer Joe Mulbah.
Making remarks at the ceremony on Thursday, July 24, 2025, in Congo Town, President Joseph Boakai urged Liberians to put aside their differences and unite in moving the country forward.
President Boakai said,” As the country celebrates another independence, it is about time that Liberians begin to reflect on the progress and struggles the country has endured over the years.”
He said the celebrations of this year’s independence should mark the beginning of a reconciled, united, and prosperous Liberia, where the voice of every citizen matters.
President Joseph Boakai, at the same time, lauded the honorees for their contributions made over the years towards the improvement of lives and the progress of the nation.
In another development, President Boakai has commissioned a new fleet of firefighting equipment to enhance the operational readiness of the Liberia National Fire Service.
An Executive Mansion release named state-of-the-art fire and water trucks, two operational jeeps, and ten motorcycles, as the equipment commissioned by the Liberian Leader.
The release said that the additional equipment provided to the National Fire Service marks a significant step towards the government’s commitment to improving national safety infrastructure and reducing the risk of fire-related disasters across the country.
The release quotes President Joseph Boakai as encouraging the National Fire Service to maintain high levels of professionalism and urged the public to cooperate with fire safety initiatives.
