Public Works Ministry Issues Moratorium on Vehicles…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Public Works Ministry has issued a moratorium on the movement of vehicles carrying goods exceeding 25 metric tons.

The moratorium applies to vehicles plying the Ganta to Zwedru, Buchanan to Greenville, and Brewerville to Gbarpolu Road Corridors, among others.

According to the ministry, the moratorium takes effect beginning July 31 to October 15, this year.

The Public Works Ministry, in a release, said it has notified the Ministries of Transport, National Defense, the Liberia National Police, the Liberia Immigration Service, and the Transport Union to ensure compliance with the mandate.

Meanwhile, the ministry has urged all transport operators and logistics firms to adhere to the directive as violators will be punished in line with the laws of the country.
