MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has made new appointments in government affecting the telecommunications and educational sectors of the country.
An Executive Mansion release issued named Clarence Massaquoi as Acting Chairman at the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), and Dr. Augurie Stevens as Acting Superintendent of the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS), respectively.
The release said the appointments are in furtherance of President Boakai’s commitment to competent leadership and institutional reforms.
In the release, President Boakai expressed confidence in the leadership abilities of the appointed officials and urged them to serve with integrity, diligence, and loyalty to the country.
Their appointments followed the suspension of Abdullah Kamara from the Liberia Telecommunications Authority and James Momo of the Monrovia Consolidated School System by the Liberian Leader on allegations of financial malpractices and irregularities.
