GRAND BASSA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Grand Gedeh County Superintendent, Alex Grant, has described the recent reburial and burial of former President Samuel Doe and his wife Nancy Doe as a significant step in the country’s history.

Over the weekend, the Liberian government embarked on providing a dignified burial for former President Doe, who was murdered in the early 1990s, and his wife, who recently died due to illness.

Speaking to ELBC via mobile phone on the Super Morning Show on Monday, June 30, 2025, Superintendent Grant said, “The Government’s action is a show of responsibility and respect for the former President and his legacy.”

Superintendent Grant also described President Boakai as a reconciler, evidenced by his previous and recent moves.
