MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Business Registry (LBR) has dedicated its newly renovated Headquarters in Monrovia.

Speaking at the dedicatory ceremony on Monday, December 9, 2024, Acting Commerce Minister, Scholastica Nimely, said:” The Liberian Government plans to ensure that the Registry becomes a service-oriented agency, capable of responding to business needs.

Acting Minister Nimely added that, as part of the plan, the Government and the World Bank have apportioned three point five million US Dollars to develop and install an online business registration system at the Liberia Business Registry.

The Acting Commerce Minister noted that the move will enable the LBR to eventually function as an effective, automated one-stop-shop for businesses.

Madam Scholastica Nimely further that the refurbished facilities, including a 120KVA Solar System, CCTV, and ICT Cabling is part of its preparedness ahead of the Online Business Registration System.

At the same time, the Registrar General of the LBR, Patience Randall, said:” The dedication of the refurbished building indicates the Government’s readiness to provide quality and timely services to the business community. My leadership was challenged by the deplorable state of the working quality and timely services to the business community.”

Madam Randall said her leadership was challenged by the deplorable state of the working environment, including the lack of infrastructure and equipment.

She noted that the move further demonstrates that the LBR is on an irreversible path to carry out its mandate to ensure that businesses and corporations are in compliance.

The LBR Registrar General thanked the World Bank and vowed to continuously engage with all stakeholders and partners for sustained improvement to LBR services to the public.
