MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The 2025 Draft National Budget hearing has begun at the House of Representatives.

Appearing on Monday, December 10, 2024, were the Minister of Finance and Development Planning and the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).

ELBS Legislative Reporter said the hearing started with the revenue component, and prior to the start tension brewed at Capitol Hill leading to a standoff between police officers and some lawmakers.

The situation also resulted in physical assaults and some sustained injuries.

The 2025 National Budget was recently submitted by the Executive Branch of the Liberian Government in the tone of eight hundred fifty-one point eight million US Dollars.
