Calm Returns to Veleyan Town in Salala District…

BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-Calm has returned to Veleyan in Salala District, Bong Cong County, following a day of violence that left several properties destroyed in the area.

ELBC Bong County Correspondent said:” The incident occurred during a friendly football encounter, when one of the spectators only identified as Eugene, was hit with a stone which led to his death.”

The action prompted a serious altercation between residents of Gomado and Veleyan Towns.

Our Correspondent is quoted as saying the incident left several houses burnt in Veleyan Town as a direct retaliation to their friend’s death.

Meanwhile, police have arrested several persons involved in the riot.
