Gov. Instructs Justice Ministry to Prosecute Accused Financial Intelligence Unit Director General

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Branch of the Liberian Government has instructed the Justice Ministry to prosecute the suspended Directed General of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) over corruption allegation.

Mr. Stanley Ford was suspended on Friday, March 29, 2024, by President Joseph Boakai.

In a release issued over the weekend, the Executive Mansion termed President Boakai’s decision as a demonstration of his zero tolerance of impunity in public service.

At the same time, the President has urged Mr. Ford to fully cooperate with the investigation to exonerate himself from the alleged financial improprieties.

Up to press time, the accused Director General of the Financial Intelligence Unit has not commented ahead of the investigation.
