Mines and Energy Ministry Clarifies Social Media Reports…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Mines, and Energy Ministry have dismissed social media reports alleging that the Ministry is implementing a World Bank project to provide renewable energy equipment.

Recently, reports circulating on social media accused the Ministry of running a Solar Panel project to improve climate change in Liberia.

But in a release issued on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, the Ministry termed the report as false and misleading, describing it as a criminal act orchestrated by unscrupulous individuals to exploit ordinary citizens.

The release is quoted as saying, Mines and Energy Minister, Gesler Murray, has since reported the matter to the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) for verification.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Mines and Energy is urging the public not to give credence to such a report and cautioned those involved in spreading lies about the Ministry to desist.
