Association of Liberian Journalist in the Americas (ALJA) raises concern over arms, ammunitions seizure…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Association of Liberian Journalist in the Americas (ALJA) has described reports of arms and ammunitions seizure as disturbing and appalling.

The Association said:” Given Liberia’s bitter past, mainly the fourteen year civil war, it is traumatizing for Liberians to be confronted with such news.”

ALJA noted that with ten months to the holding of elections in the Country, Liberians cannot afford any crisis that will distract them from this vital goal of building upon the democratic   gains made over the years.

The Association is at the same time commending the Joint Security for the seizure.

Meanwhile, ALJA is urging Police Inspector General, Patrick Sudue, to ensure that the investigation is conducted speedily to bring the perpetrators to justice.
